Spider-man Across the spider-verse, A follow-up to Into the spider-verse and what surely looks like a contender for animated film of the year promises to not only continue miles and Gwen’s story but also bring back fan favourite Spider-People while also showcasing new and lesser-known variations of the character.
So that begs the question. “Which characters are fans most excited to see on the big screen ?”
I asked my followers this on Twitter and this is what they had to say.
Spectacular Spider-Man (Josh Keaton)
The most commented character on the post. Spectacular spider-man was released in 2008 and ran for two seasons till 2009 ending on a cliffhanger due to legal reasons between Disney and Sony. The series was loved by both critics and fans alike and is still considered one of the best adaptions of spider-man. Being teased in an international poster for Across the spider-verse then confirmed by one of the film producers Christopher Miller, here’s what the fans had to say about his return.
Insomniac’s Spider-Man (Yuri Lowenthal)
Teased in both the trailers and posters, Insomniac Spider-Man is a highly anticipated character, especially with the follow-up game “Spider-Man” releasing later in the year its no wonder why people are excited for him. The question remains whether Yuri will voice the character.
While speaking to “ComicBookMovie” Yuri commented on whether he was voicing the character or not by saying:
“I hope so. You know, I still don’t know and I keep waiting for my phone to ring.”

With his appearance being leaked from official merchandise and then shown on the poster. Although loved by fans and with his voice actor still unknown as of writing, He does have a complicated history in the comics. Made by the villain known as Jackal and a genetic clone of Peter Parker, he would,, later on get his own identity and superhero name.

Tsum Tsum Spider-Man
OK… So no one except for me asked for this, And chances are anyone under the age of 18 won’t know what the fuck a “Tsum Tsum” is. Released by Disney in 2014, Tsum Tsum is a mobile puzzle game and a line of stackable plushies based on characters owned by Disney. In 2016 an official crossover comic called “Tsum Tsum: Takeover” was released. In the comic a shipment they are in that was on its way to the collector crashes on earth and they are let loose. Not a lot is known about the Tsum Tsum except they can copy the abilities and powers of anybody at will and during the comic one becomes a fan of spider-man and starts copying his abilities and even helps him. The chances of this version of Spider-Man being in the film is low but you can’t deny how cute he looks. Plus it would be cool for a whole new generation to be introduced to Tsum Tsums.
