London mcm comic con special

London Mcm comic. A place where different fandoms come together to celebrate their love for their franchise. A place where you can buy things, try things, see things, and meet new and old friends who share the same interests as you.

I was lucky enough to be given a press pass for the event.

The original plan was to cover all the Marvel stuff that mcm comic Con usually has to offer, in previous years they had the cast of Loki and other Marvel stars at the event.

Unfortunately this year they had no Marvel stars or panels at the event. I could go into the reason why “I think” they couldn’t get any but I can already hear Kevin Feige loading up his sniper outside my house so I won’t.

As this was my first in-person event as press, I’m just going to show a few pictures and write my experience of it being my first time and hopefully in October when London mcm is back, not only will I get a press pass again but hopefully they will have marvel guest this time. So let’s get on with the article.

It was Friday, May 26. I woke up excited as hell for my first comic con as press (this would be my third time at comic con) I grabbed my backpack in case I brought anything (buying random crap you don’t need is part of the comic con experience no matter how hard you try not to spend) and I left my house.

I got to the London Excel Centre where the event was being held and could already see 100s of cosplayers outside, from different fandoms like my hero, Spider-Man, FNAF and more just chatting, chilling and taking pictures with people who have asked for one.

After meeting up with a few friends I went inside to claim my press pass but like the Twat I am I ended up in the wrong section and accidentally joined the general admissions queue………

After I was sent to the right queue I got my press and went inside.

Spent a lot of the day looking around, buying stuff, chatting with cosplay but there was one thing that I 100% wanted to do before the day ended, MEET TOMSKA.

If you don’t know him by name then chances are you know him as the creator of “ASDF MOVIES”. An animated comedy clip show series on YouTube that created iconic moments like “I like trains” and “Muffin Time”.

Unlike other guests at the con, Tomska wasn’t charging people to meet him. So at around 4 pm, I joined the queue behind a Boris Johnson with an infinity gauntlet cosplayer (you read that right) and then something happened that could only happen at a comic con.

A Batman cosplay joined the queue and then started having a pretend battle with the Boris Johnson with an infinity gauntlet cosplayer while waiting in a queue to meet Tomska……..

So after 10 minutes, Batman won in an epic showdown that is worthy of an Oscar, and honestly, if you ever have doubts about going to Comic-Con make this one of the reasons you go, just to see this kind of shit.

Anyway, after waiting 30 minutes I finally got to the front of the queue. The only reason it took so long was because Tomska was taking time to talk and joke with people, and make sure they were ok.

And as soon as it was my time to meet him I forgot everything I wanted to say to him………

I started panicking and I apologised to him and he was so nice about it, he made sure I was ok, started talking about his experience at comic cons, after getting myself together I asked him what it was like having Markiplier and Jacksepticeye do voices for asdfmovies, he was amazing.

I had my picture taken with him, he signed my poster for me, and I went home with the biggest smile on my face. Even if I don’t get another press pass for comic con I’ll happily come back again.
