Since Across The Spider-verse was released in 2023, it’s made nearly $700 Million, been praised for being one of the greatest comic book films to ever be released and has been nominated and won loads of awards, with the film having an IMAX limited run at the cinemas currently.
But I have a Theory that we could see an extended version at some point, I’ll be showing you the reasons why I think there is an extended version coming and what they could do with the extended version as well, hope you enjoy reading it and just remember this is just a theory….. A FILM THEORY.
Deleted Scenes

When Across The Spider-verse was released on digital/physical media, one deleted scene was included as an extra called “Miguel Calling”, but there were other deleted scenes that weren’t included in the digital/physical release.
During an interview with Indiewire, Across the Spider-verse producer, Phil Lords talks about a scene that got cut, where the Spot gets humiliated by a bunch of other villains at “The Bar With No Name”, the scene would have connected to a post-credit scene where the Spot goes back to “The Bar With No Name” and use his newfound powers to beat up everyone who humiliated him.
Although we do see a small clip of the post scene in the movie during one scene the question is why weren’t those scenes included in the digital/physical release of the film, and with all the concept art animators of the film have shared online there have to be more deleted scenes we haven’t seen that they could use for an extended version of the film.
Now I’m going to show you some ideas they could do for the extended version.
The Spider-Within

Announced last year, The Spider-within is a short film that shows Miles having an anxiety attack, the film takes place before Across The Spider-verse and if they wanted to they could attach this to the Across the Spider-verse extended version.
Post-Credit Scene

As stated earlier, Phil Lord did say there was originally going to be a Post-Credit Scene where the spot shows his new powers, so if an extended version of the film does release, they could put this Post-Credit Scene in.
Beyond The Spider-verse clip/Trailer

When Spider-man No Way Home was released, one of its post-credit scenes was the Doctor Strange Multiverse Of Madness trailer, so another idea they could do for an Extended version of the film is to put a trailer or a clip for Beyond The Spider-verse as a Post-Credit.
