PS1 Spider-Man : Things I Would Want From A Remaster

With PS1 Spider-Man being 24 Years old this year and with devs in the past saying they would like a remaster to happen, I decided to write out what I would want if a remaster happened.

Graphic Modes

If a remaster was to happen, then I would love the ability to pick between the original PS1 Graphics and whatever the updated graphics would look like.

New unlockable suits

I’m not asking for an Insomniac Spider-Man 2-level amount of suits but it would be cool if they added new suits like the Insomniac suit and Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland suits.

What If…. Mode That Allows You to Save

In the PS1 version of the game, if you entered a code, you would unlock “What If…..” mode, where it’s the same story, but with new dialogue, new references, hidden sub levels and some of the stages are a bit different.

The only problem is with the PS1 version, you couldn’t save it, if you tried to it would just send you back to the main game, so if a remaster happens I hope What if… mode Becomes an unlockable mode that you can save.

New Interviews/Behind The Scenes Stuff

The cool thing about early 2000s games is that some of them came with unlockable behind-the-scenes/Interview videos, so if a remaster happens I would love the original videos that came with the game plus new videos of the making of the remaster.

On a side note can we bring this back, it be cool if games started adding unlockable behind-the-scenes and interview stuff again.

Unlockable Cheats

So newer games don’t do this that often anymore but a lot of the games before 2010 used to let you put in cheat codes that would either unlock stuff or give you extra health, shit like that.

In the PS1 Spider-man game, you could unlock “Big head mode” and other stuff by inputting codes, so it be cool if that brought that back plus added a bunch of other fun cheats as well.

Boss Attack/Time Attack mode/New levels

Last thing, would love a time attack for each level, a new level or 2, and a boss attack mode where I can see how fast I can beat all the bosses in one go.

Hopefully, one day a remaster happens, dev in the past have said they wanted it, but due to character rights it could be a long time before a remaster happens but we can only hope, as players new and old deserve a chance to play this without having a ps1 or using a simulator.
