Since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 released on October 20, 2023, fans of the previous 2 games have noticed that after they’ve beaten the game, New Game+ wasn’t an option. Of course, this has stirred up fans all across social media, having them disappointed in Insomniac for not adding New Game+ during the game’s main development.
Fortunately, after 4 months of the game’s release, Insomniac gave us all an update on New Game+, and lo and behold, it was being added! With some new additions too such as..
New suits (Hellfire Gala 2022 and 2023, Gameheads)
Symbiote Suit styles
Time of Day changes
In today’s review, I will be going over almost every new addition to the game, starting with Time of Day change.
The Time of Day is one of my personal favorite updates added to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 simply because I take a lot of photos using the photo mode. Before the update, I always had to glitch in order to get to a certain time using the Mysterio challenges but no more! Now, I can easily seamlessly change the time of day using the settings. This addition to the game is so incredibly helpful and very convenient. 10/10.
Next up is New Game+: NG+ works like every other NG+ on any other game with that feature, where you can re-experience the story of the game you just played once more but with the stuff you had already unlocked. Most games, you get to relive the best moments from your favorite games all over again. Whether that’d be Kratos vs. Thor from God of War: Ragnarok or the Doc Ock fight at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2018.
But, sadly, when it comes to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you start to go back and realize some of the stuff featured in the story isn’t all that great. But, this isn’t a Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 story review (That’s to come later), this is all about the NG+ update!
Sure, there are still some bugs to be kinked out but out of all the minor updates we got prior to this massive update, this is a major step up.
The New Game+ Update is a 9.5/10 for me.
