Spider-man 4 : Everything we know updated

So, a lot has happened since the last “Spider-Man 4: Everything We Know” article.

So this article will feature everything in the old article plus all the new rumours that have come out.

MAIN CAST

Tom Holland and Zendaya were confirmed to return by trades in 2022, but with Zendaya filming Euphoria season 3 and Dune 3 next year, if Spider-Man 4 doesn’t start filming soon, it’s unknown whether she’ll still be in Spider-Man 4 or whether her role will be downsized to fit her schedule.

For a while it was unknown whether Jacob Batalon was returning as Ned or not, but now it’s rumoured that he may return as Ned. (My cosmic circus).

Filming is rumoured to start soon

According to The InSneider, Spider-Man 4 is rumoured to start filming in September/October, but with no director announced at the moment, some are finding the rumour hard to believe.

Whos directing?

No idea.

When it comes to who’s directing the film, we’ve had so many rumours, ranging from Drew Goddard to Sam Raimi and more, but it seems no one is sure who’s directing the ilm. Right now, the only thing all leakers are certain of is that Jon Watts isn’t coming back.

Story

Where it comes to the story, there has been a lot of drama about it between Sony and Disney, and the story might not even be the same as I originally reported on in the other article, but I’m going to break it down for you.

As reported by My Cosmic Circus, at one point, Spider-Man 4 would’ve been a continuation of the Mayor Kingpin story currently happening in the MCU, where Kingpin would’ve sent people after Peter to get rid of him on a crackdown on vigilantes, but it seems that’s changed.

In a recent My Cosmic Circus Q&A special, it was stated that the Kingpin stuff may happen after secret wars and that Peter might go to ESU.

To make things more confusing, the leaker known as Daniel RPK recently stated that any Marvel project released between Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret will be set on Battleworld (unless it’s a prequel), and My Cosmic Circus recently stated Spider-Man 4 could come out in 2026, so…

You still with me? Well on to the next part, the rumoured behind-the-scenes drama.

Reported by Daniel RPK, Sony and Disney/Marvel are fighting over what kind of story Spider-Man 4 should be, with Sony wanting a multiverse story with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield coming back and Kevin Feige wanting a street level story. It was later reported by Alex from My Cosmic Circus that both companies seemed to have found a middle ground, meaning the story will have elements of multiverse and street level.

Side characters/cameos

The thing about making a film is that it will have many drafts and rewrites, and according to rumours from Daniel RPK, My Cosmic Circus, and Cryptic4KQual, these characters appeared as cameos/side characters in different versions of the script; whether they are still featured in the current version of the script is unknown.

So Ant-Man, Vulture, and Daredevil were reported to be returning by Daniel RPK.

Kingpin’s return was reported by My Cosmic Circus.

Kate Bishop, Echo, and Jessica Jones were reported by Cryptic4KQual, but their original reply has been deleted .
