Welcome to the first edition of LAST WEEK IN SPIDER-MAN NEWS, a weekly recap of Spider-Man related news from the week before.
For the first edition, we got a LOT TO COVER, from Spider-Man 4 updates to Sony Marvel News from New York Comic Con and more.
This edition covers everything that happened between October 14th – 20th, 2024.
SPIDER-MAN 4 UPDATES
This week Tom Holland was on the “Rich Roll” podcast where he spoke about his life, becoming sober, his new company Bero, and Spider-Man 4.
When he spoke about the current draft for Spider-Man 4, he said
“It needs work but the writers are doing a great job. I read it 3 weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down, read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room”
He also spoke about wanting to bring Miles Morales to the MCU.
“I’d love to do for a young kid what Robert Downey Jr. did for me.”
He was then asked whether the studio (Disney/Sony) wanted him to do more Spider-Man films, to which he replied with
“I’d love to do for a young kid what Robert Downey Jr. did for me.”
VENOM THE LAST DANCE
With Venom The Last Dance releasing this week, a lot of new information was revealed.
KNULL
While being interviewed by IGN, Venom The Last Dance Director Kelly Marcel revealed that Venom The Last Dance will be used to set knull up for something bigger, saying
“The King in Black is way too powerful for ‘one and done’”
KNULL VOICE REVEAL
Knull’s voice for The Last Dance was revealed, with people convinced that the person voicing him is Andy Serkis, who was rumoured to voice the character.
NEW LOOK AT KNULL
We got a new look at Knull and what seems to be his All-Black Necrosword.
FIGHTING SPIDER-MAN
While promoting Venom The Last Dance in Mexico, Tom Hardy was asked if Spider-Man was in the film, to which he replied
“There’re always possibilities, I can’t say anything. Because this is the last movie”
At New York comic con, Tom Hardy was asked if he would like to fight Spider-Man; he replied, saying
“I would like to fight Spider-Man, and I would like to do it now. I’m well up for it…. Never say never”
KRAVEN THE HUNTER
People who attended the Sony panel at New York Comic Con last week got to see the first 7 minutes of Kraven the Hunter; here’s a description of what was shown.
“the film begins in a Russian prison colony that Kraven enters as an inmate before revealing his true purpose: to kill an imprisoned mob boss. Kraven does so with brutal theatricality, driving the tooth from the head of a Siberian tiger rug into his victim’s neck.”
A second clip for the film was also shown, with the clip showing
“A dude getting split in half by a tree stump, a murder with a bear trap, several heads split by an ax, and a spiky tree swinging down to impale a man – and more.” (Via @BrandonDavisBD on twitter)
Marvel’s Spider-man 2
Some good and, what some might seem as bad stuff got revealed for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, so let’s get into it.
PC RELEASE DATE
Revealed at the New York Comic Con, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released on PC on January 30th, 2025.
NO ADDITIONAL STORY CONTENT
Insomniac have revealed that Spider-Man 2 will not be receiving any additional story content, so basically no DLC.
YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN
As seen above, we got a new look at Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man at New York comic con.
NOT RELEASING NEXT MONTH?
Last year it was reported that we would get Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man this November, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now as Disney+ released their new release schedule for November, with Your Friendly neighborhood not being on it.
SILVER SABLE
Revealed by leaker Daniel RPK, Sony is trying to develop a Silver Sable project again.
Sony has been trying to make a project featuring Silver Sable in it since 2014, with the project originally being a black Cat/Silver Sable movie called “BLACK & WHITE.”.
RANDOM STUFF
This part of the article will just be random stuff for things that didn’t really deserve their own section.
FORTNITE/ROCKET LEAGUE STUFF
A comic Jessica Drew Spider-Woman skin was revealed for Fortnite, and by the time this article releases it should be in the Item Store.
New Spider-verse/Spider-Man villain Decals were revealed for Fortnite/Rocket League and are currently available in both games.
NEW MOBILE GAME
A new Marvel mobile game called Marvel Mystic Mayhem was announced; here’s the first look at Spider-Man for the game.
