Hello everyone.
I hope you all had a great Christmas.
Sorry for not posting these last few weeks, but I decided to put it on break due to the Christmas holidays.
In this issue we’re going to be talking about your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, Spider-Man 4, and more.
All news featured in this edition happened between January 6 – 12, 2025.
Also decided to try a sort of new format by voicing my opinion on some of the news; if you guys think I should continue to do that in future issues, please let me know.
TOM HOLLAND AND ZENDAYA ENGAGED

There’s still more people to meet. More opportunities to come. And more chances to try. Live, learn, apply.
Jokes aside, congratulations to our Spider-Man and MJ.
SPIDER-MAN 4

This rumour comes from Daniel RPK.
The Spider-Man 4 script is apparently being rewritten; also, Shocker and Scorpion appeared in the original draft of the script for the film.
I know it sounds bad that the script is being rewritten, but you got to remember that the last Spider-Man film made nearly $2 billion at the box office and was also received well by critics and fans alike, so not only do they somehow have to try and top that, but they also have to line the story up with whatever happens in Doomsday and with whatever happens in Secret Wars, so what I’m saying is, give the writers time and let them cook.
Also, I know a lot of people want Scorpion to return, so hopefully he’s still in the current version of the script.
YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN

Episodes 1 & 2 of Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man will be dropping on the same day on January 29th.
I know a lot of people aren’t really excited for this show due to the art style, but I say give it a chance; it’s going to have fan-favourite villains and more. It’s even going to have Daredevil and Kingpin, so it’s definitely worth giving it a shot.
OVERSEER OF THE SPIDER-MAN SPIN-OFF FILM’S LEAVES SONY

Palak Patel, who was a Sony executive, has left the studio for another one.
He was the overseer for the Spider-Man Spin-Off Universe and was also the point man for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
People are celebrating, but you got to remember there was more than one person responsible for the Spin-Off Universe who are still working at the company.
SPIDER-NOIR

Production for Spider-Noir has temporarily stopped due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.
Good, no one should be risking their lives and well-being for something like this; my prayers go out to all those affected by the fires.
KRAVEN THE HUNTER

Kraven The Hunter will be released on digital platforms on Tuesday (January 14th).
At the time of writing this, the film has currently grossed $59M worldwide; the budget was $110M.
Rumour has it that Sony is taking this lose seriously, and I hope they are.
Let’s take a look back at the Spider-Man spin-off films for a second.
The Venom films did well because he is the most recognisable Spider-Man villain, who also has a lot of comics based on him and has appeared in so many different forms of Spider-Man media, like games, TV shows, and even Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3.
The reason why Morbius, Madame Web, and Kraven failed is because people either don’t know who they are because they don’t get used that often in the comics and other stuff, or because they just don’t care about those characters. Yes, Kraven might have a really cool storyline in the comics (Kraven’s last hunt), but just because he has one cool storyline doesn’t mean people will go see a full film with that character in it.
So let’s hope, if Sony does decide to try again with the Spin-Off Universe, they listen to the fans, put care into their films, AND ACTUALLY PUT SPIDER-MAN IN IT.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of LAST WEEK IN SPIDER-MAN NEWS.
See you all next week for the next edition.
