On March 31st, 2025, at 6.30pm PST, Sony will take the stage at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for CinemaCon to show and announce their new and upcoming films to press and cinema owners alike, and although they’ll be announcing a lot of non-Marvel-related films, this article will just be predicting Marvel-related stuff.
Due to the Sony Pictures CEO revealing they are rethinking the SSU, don’t expect too much, but with the presentation being over 2 hours long, there’s a high chance we are going to get a Marvel-related announcement or two.
For each prediction, I’m going to guess what could be announced or shown and rate it on how likely it is to happen on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being unlikely and 10 being highly likely).
SSU REBOOT

After Kraven the Hunter ended up failing at the box office just like Morbius and Madame Web, it was reported that Sony was going back to the drawing board with the SSU by rebooting it, with even the Sony Pictures CEO admitting they need to “rethink” it.
So could a reboot announcement happen at CinemaCon?
Yes, but probably not till next year’s one, as according to reliable leaker Alex Perez from the news page My Cosmic Circus, the plan is to reboot the SSU after Secret Wars releases; Secret Wars doesn’t release till 2027, so chances are any announcement of a reboot will be announced next year, depending on if they plan to reboot the SSU in 2027 or 2028.
How likely is it that this will happen? I’m giving it a likely rating of 4/10 due to the fact that Sony is more likely to announce a reboot next year than this year, but there’s still a small chance it could get revealed at this presentation.
ANIMATED R RATED VENOM FILM

So, as I was writing this, rumours started floating around that this project has been cancelled, but since I couldn’t find a reliable source of where this was coming from, I’m going to count the rumour as untrue until further notice.
An animated R-rated Venom film was revealed early last year by a leaker called canwegetsometoast (who is currently being hunted by Marvel for leaking a clip from Captain America: Brave New World mid last year).
They said it was being written by Seth Rogen, with Tony Todd expressing interest publicly that he wanted to resume his role as Venom from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (he sadly passed away late last year).
IF this project is still happening, I doubt it will happen till after Beyond the Spider-Verse is released, as all of Sony’s focus is currently on Beyond the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man 4.
There’s a small chance it could still get announced, but it seems really unlikely to happen, so for that reason I’ll have to give it a likely rating of 2/10, and even if something does get revealed, it will probably just be a cast and a writer announcement.
LIVE ACTION MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN FILM

A solo Miles Morales Spider-Man film has been officially known for a while now, but as with the SSU reboot, I don’t think it will get announced till near/after Secret Wars, as according to Alex Perez from My Cosmic Circus, Sony wants Miles in their rebooted SSU, which will be after Secret Wars, and that doesn’t release till 2027, so for that reason I’m going to have to give it a likely rating of being revealed at this year’s Cinemacon a 3/10, and even if they did reveal anything, it will probably just be a casting announcement and nothing more.
SPIDER-VERSE SPIDER-WOMAN SPIN-OFF FILM

Again, as of writing this, rumours are going around that this spin-off film has been cancelled, but since I can’t find a reliable source for it, I’m going to pass it off as untrue for now.
As with the live-action Miles Morales Spider-Man film, the animated Spider-Woman film has been known for a while now, and it was rumoured to be based on the Spider-Woman from Across the Spider-Verse and feature Gwen and Silk.
But just like the animated Venom film, IF this project is still happening, I feel like nothing will be revealed till after Beyond the Spider-Verse has released, and even if they do reveal anything at this year’s Cinemacon, it will probably just be cast, so for that it will get a likely rating of 2/10.
BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE

A new release date for this film could drop any day now, and with the Sony Pictures presentation being over 2 hours long, I feel like this would be the perfect place to drop a new date, new info, or something.
I’m going to sound super delusional here, but I feel like they will have something to share about this film at the presentation.
So for that reason, I’m giving it a likely rating of 5/10.
SPIDER-MAN 4

As I was writing this, Sadie Sink was revealed to have a role in Spider-Man 4, so with this news and the fact Spider-Man 4 is filming in a few months, I do believe we have a high chance of getting a title and casting announcement at the presentation.
I don’t think we will get any information on the story at this presentation since this film is meant to take place after Avengers: Doomsday, which doesn’t release till next year.
I would also love Tom Holland to appear at the presentation, but that’s unlikely due to his commitments to The Odyssey.
So for that reason, I’m going to give it a likely rating of 8/10.
What are your predictions for CinemaCon?.
